Development Worker - Part Time

Are you passionate about social justice?

A networker who likes connecting people and getting projects off the ground?

Are you experienced at helping others discover their gifts and develop their talents?

Together Leicester is currently recruiting for a part-time development worker (3 days per week) to fulfil our existing obligations to funders and to develop new areas of work. This is a fixed-term contract for six months.

Together Leicester is a partnership between the Anglican Diocese of Leicester, the Church Urban Fund and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of Favour Parish. We work with churches and other organisations in our local communities to tackle social inequality, transform neighbourhoods and change lives. We focus on three areas: food, finance, and flourishing. While our Christian faith is central to what we do, our local partnerships with other faiths and organisations bring extra strength and energy.

Food:
not simply facilitating food banks, but addressing the root causes of food insecurity, including training people to cook and eat healthily, budget sensibly and access affordable food.

Finance: an emerging area of work, supporting local initiatives that support initiatives that teach basic budgeting, enable financial inclusion and help people understand money better.

Flourishing
: everyone should have the opportunity to flourish, to be the best they can be. We work with church congregations to help them recognise their strengths and abilities and develop plans to respond to the needs they see around them and the work God is doing in the world.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact the Chair of Trustees, Revd Dr Tom Wilson, director@stphilipscentre.co.uk

We are recruiting for this post on an on-going basis. Please send completed application forms to the chair of trustees at the above address.
