Community Listening
Together Leicester facilitates and supports churches to identify the strengths, gifts and assets in their local community, and to listen to what the people want to celebrate about where they live.
It’s the opportunity to reflect on people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs and find ways to strengthen the relationship between church and community and to ask how God is calling the church to serve their local community at this time.
Leicester Citizens
Together Leicester is also a paid-up member of Leicester Citizens, and we use our membership to sponsor a church which wouldn’t otherwise be able to be involved. This year our sponsored church is St. Peter’s, Highfields. We have carried out listening in the Sunday service and in the Lunch Club which they run to provide low cost food to those who need the food or the company, in preparation for the Mayoral Elections which took place on 2ndMay.
Leicester Citizens will continue to hold Mayor Soulsby to account on the commitments he made at the Accountability Assembly.
